57th FIS Congress 2026 in Belgrade, Serbia

09-12.06.2026 Chairman Edmond Yue and the SAHK delegation attended the 57th FIS Congress in Belgrade, Serbia, between the 9th - 12th June 2026. 75 winter ski sports National Sport Association (NSA) gathered from all over the world to attend this FIS (International Ski and Snowboard Federation) annual meeting where important votes on various regulations were held. This year, Mr Alexander Ospelt was elected as the FIS President and 18 new Council Members were voted in for the next four-year term. The congress served as a great opportunity for SAHK to meet with other winter sport associations/federations to discuss the current state of global winter sports and the opportunities as well as challenges arising in the upcoming years.

On the final day of the Congress, SAHK hosted a gathering for our fellow Asian Ski Federation (ASF) nations to meet and discuss new and upcoming ski developments and objectives  specifically catered to Asian ski promoting and   opportunities in the region. In attendance were nations such as China, Uzbekistan,  Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Thailand, Nepal, Kazakhstan, United Arab Emirates, DPRK and Japan. 

In all, the 57th Congress was a very productive international exchange among nations for the continuation of development of winter ski sports throughout the globe.
The next FIS Technical Meetings will be held in September in Geneva, Switzerland.
