Affiliations

The Ski Association of Hong Kong, China Limited was founded in 2003. We are officially ratified by the International Skiing Federation (FIS) as an associate member. We are also a full member of the Asian Ski Federation (ASF), and belong to the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee (SF&OC) in Hong Kong. Our mission is to promote the sport of skiing in Hong Kong and to participate in its development in Asia and beyond.

FIS

The International Ski and Snowboard Federation, also known as FIS, is the highest international governing body for skiing and snowboarding. Founded on 2 February 1924 in Chamonix, France during the inaugural Winter Olympic Games, FIS is responsible for the Olympic skiing disciplines, namely Alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, ski jumping, Nordic combined, freestyle skiing, and snowboarding. The FIS is also responsible for setting the international competition rules. Through its 140 member nations, more than 7,000 FIS competitions are staged annually. The federation oversees World Cup competitions and biannual World Championships.

ASF

Since the inauguration of Asian Ski Federation (ASF) at the time of the 37th FIS Congress at Montreux, Switzerland in May of 1990, ASF has sustained its activities of mutual friendship among ski nations of Asia for development of Asian ski under the supportive umbrella of the FIS all these years Founded by Dr. Sung Won-Lee in the early 1990s, the purpose of the organization was stated to organise a network of Ski Associations/Federations to exchange information regarding FIS activities and work together for the betterment of ski techniques and the development of all skiing activities, as well as to further the friendship among the Ski Associations/Federations of Asia.The Asian Ski Federation organises range of activities for their member nations including courses for trainers, course-setters and other training and competitive as well as Asian Alpine Ski Championships for Children/Juniors/Licensed.

SF&OC

The Sports Federation and Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China (中國香港體育協會暨奧林匹克委員會; abbreviated as SF&OC, 港協暨奧委會) is the National Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China. It was formally recognized as a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), and East Asian Games Association (EAGA), and is responsible for the participation of the Hong Kong Delegation to the Olympic Games, Asian Games and East Asian Games. At present, there are altogether 85 member associations, i.e. National Sports Association (NSA) under SF&OC, who serves as the spokesman of the sports industry in Hong Kong. https://www.hkolympic.org/
